BOTOX® (botulinum toxin type A) is licensed by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK for prophylaxis of headaches in adults who have chronic migraine.
Botox is now licensed to be used specifically for the prevention of headaches in adults with chronic migraine. Botox will not help to treat an acute migraine attack, but has been shown to help people who suffer from chronic migraines to significantly increase the number of migraine headache free days that they experience in a typical month, helping them to live a more normal life.
Dr Collyer, Clinical Director of Cosmeticare ltd says “There is now reliable clinical evidence that Botox is effective in reducing or preventing headache in patients suffering with frequent migraine attacks.
I am delighted that this treatment can now be made available to people suffering with this disabling condition.”
If you suffer from chronic migraine, and have tried other treatments without success, we recommend that you book an appointment to talk with the Doctors at Cosmeticare to see if treatment with Botox would be suitable for you. We have over 7 years experience in the use of Botox for a variety of different medical conditions – from the treatment of migraine headaches to Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) as well as for various cosmetic treatments.
