Botox treatment for migrane

Botox Approved in the UK for the Treatment of Chronic Migraine

BOTOX® (botulinum toxin type A) is licensed by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK for prophylaxis of headaches in adults who have chronic migraine.

Botox is now licensed to be used specifically for the prevention of headaches in adults with chronic migraine. Botox will not help to treat an acute migraine attack, but has been shown to help people who suffer from chronic migraines to significantly increase the number of migraine headache free days that they experience in a typical month, helping them to live a more normal life.

Dr Collyer, Clinical Director of Cosmeticare ltd says “There is now reliable clinical evidence that Botox is effective in reducing or preventing headache in patients suffering with frequent migraine attacks. I am delighted that this treatment can now be made available to people suffering with this disabling condition.”

If you suffer from chronic migraine, and have tried other treatments without success, we recommend that you book an appointment to talk with the Doctors at Cosmeticare to see if treatment with Botox would be suitable for you. We have over 7 years experience in the use of Botox for a variety of different medical conditions – from the treatment of migraine headaches to Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) as well as for various cosmetic treatments.

Cosmetic Skin Treatments

Botulinum Toxin type A (e.g. BOTOX®) injections can help reduce lines and wrinkles which are caused by contractions of the underlying facial muscles. The more you laugh, smile and frown, the more prominent these wrinkles become as they gradually wear away the collagen in your skin.
Thread Veins, also known as Spider Veins, Dermal Flares or Broken Veins are fine veins that are visible through the skin. These veins tend to occur on the legs, face, cheeks or nose. This is mainly due to UV damage to the skin and/or pregnancy. Thread Veins can be treated with Microsclerotherapy injections which block the veins, preventing blood flow and causing them to shrink.
Botox is now licensed and approved for the treatment of headache in migraine and this treatment is offered by Cosmeticare. A wide range of effective treatments is available for this condition which affects one in seven adults in the UK. Migraine is a complex condition and requires the services of a qualified physician to ensure treatment success.
Derma FNS Derma FNS™ is a micro-needling treatment that uses a precisely controlled set of skin needles to create thousands of tiny holes in the skin. This causes the release of natural hormones called “growth factors” which encourage the breakdown of old damaged skin and stimulate new collagen and elastin development; the building blocks of healthy new skin.
Hyperhidrosisis a condition that causes excessive sweating. Although not a serious threat to health, it can cause emotional and psychological distress, embarrassment and negatively impact a person’s quality of life. We offer a non-surgical treatment for excessive underarm sweating. BOTOX can be used to prevent sweat under the arms and palms. The effects of this treatment last for several months, leaving you feeling more comfortable and confident to enjoy life.
IPL Laser treatment works by sending strong pulses of light into the skin. The treatment does not have any side effects except for a little discomfort. Hair removal, photorejuvenation, acne scars, rosacea, thread veins can be treated using IPL Laser treatment.
