What is Botulinum Toxin?

Botulinum toxin type A (BOTOX®, or VISTABEL®) is used for treating frown lines, eye lines (crow's feet), forehead furrows, lip lines, neck lines, and down turned mouths.

It can also be used for preventing excessive perspiration in under arms and hands (Hyperhidrosis).

How does it work?

The injections temporarily relax facial muscles, helping reduce the muscle contractions causing lines and wrinkles and ultimately helping the skin to repair.

After an initial consultation our doctors will assess the severity of the muscle contractions causing the lines and wrinkles of the area to be treated, and then carefully administer a few tiny injections of Botulinum toxin. This is a very quick procedure taking 15 – 20mins.

Botulinum toxin take a few days to penetrate the muscle. The results vary from person to person, but one would expect the results to last around 4-5 months.
